Lana Harper has studied piano for thirteen years and is a Christian home-educated high school graduate. She earned the prestigious High School diploma from the American College of Musicians in the National Guild auditions. She has also earned the Sonata Medal, playing five complete sonatas from memory. She has been a student of the Suzuki method for nearly all of her musical studies, studying piano with Sue Durenleau for 9 years, Ann Shurtz for 4 years, and Gloria Whitney for several months. Lana has performed annually in CPSA piano concerts at the Whitaker Center, the Forum, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Messiah College including performing two movements of the Mozart Double Concerto and The Carnival of the Animals. She and her sister Sydney frequently perform as duo pianists and they have played at the Pennsylvania State Museum, Hershey Hospital, retirement and assisted living communities, and in her own and neighboring churches. Lana received a Shenk scholarship from the American Guild of Organists for summer organ lessons. She was selected by the Susquehanna piano faculty for a masterclass on the harpsichord and the fortepiano. She has attended the summer Suzuki Institute in Canada two years as a student, and received a teacher scholarship from CPSA to attend Teacher Training in Suzuki Book 1 in 2014.
